STAFF INTERVIEWS
I joined GPSS as a new graduate. At university I led or collaborated on sustainability related research projects such as 'Investigating Public Participation in Reconciling Landscape Conservation and Regional Development', 'Sustainable Tourism in National Parks', 'Issues and Recommendations of Corporate ESG Disclosure' and 'How to Support Start-ups in Developing ESG Strategies from a Venture Capital Perspective'.
I was interested in being closely involved in the development of specific renewable energy projects, while at the same time being able to put into practice what I had previously learned.
In the Strategic Planning Group, I support the fundraising process. I collect, analyse and summarise internal and external information and prepare materials for investors.
In the Sustainability Promotion Group, I am concurrently responsible for developing and monitoring sustainability material issues, conducting climate change scenario analysis and improving the methodology for calculating GHG emissions, as part of the preparation for disclosure under the TCFD.
That was when I truly felt that our job was not to 'build power plants' but to 'build connections with the community and society through power plants.'
It is a place where you can always keep trying new things.
