STAFF INTERVIEWS
I worked in the engineering department's operations team at a semiconductor manufacturing company.
I wanted to have a job where I could truly contribute to the world and society.
I mainly manage solar and wind projects. This means I am involved in risk management, checking on the progress of projects, reporting the status, income and expenditure of the project to the investment committee etc.
Also, I am a member of the Sustainability Promotion Office, which is currently, as the first stage, holding dialogues on various topics to raise employee awareness of sustainability.
GPSS gives us opportunities to try at stuff we think might benefit the company or needs to be done but is not in our job description. By example, I was involved in designing the company's booth for a renewable energy exposition. It was a great opportunity to be creative and bring a new wind into everyday work life. While we had a short time frame and many problems to deal with, it was truly worthwhile to see the result of our hard work and see other people also enjoying it.
GPSS is definitely not your ordinary Japanese company, if you are up for some adventure this might be the place for you.
